Reuters reports that Boeing Co. has decided to maintain its B737 jet production below 38 per month. The decision was made after a series of setbacks, including two fatal crashes, that have plagued the company since late 2018.
Boeing's Projected Future
Despite the recent setbacks, Boeing projects a bright future for the aviation industry. According to the company's own projections, the industry will need 649,000 new pilots and 690,000 new maintenance technicians over the next 20 years.
New E-7 Wedgetail Facilities
In a positive development, Boeing recently began the main construction phase of its new E-7 Wedgetail facilities in Scotland. The new facilities will support the production of the E-7 Wedgetail, an advanced airborne early warning and control aircraft.
